The Thai Embassy in Madrid celebrated yesterday the birthday of King Vajiralongkorn with a ceremonial offering presided over by the diplomat Cheevindh Nathalang, who came to the capital of Spain while a new ambassador is appointed for the vacancy left by the previous head of Mission, Vosita Vorasaphen.
Cheevindh Nathalang is currently the minister and deputy head of Mission at the Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna. He frequently represents Thailand as chargé d’affaires ad interim and in international organizations in Vienna.
During the ceremony, attended by his wife and all the staff of the Embassy in Madrid, the high-ranking diplomat offered gifts, placed a floral ribbon, a tray of flowers, and incense sticks to pay tribute to the king. He then addressed the attendees, who lit candles and sang hymns in honor of the monarch, who was crowned on May 4, 2019, after the death of his father, King Bhumibol, in October 2018.
The Thai Embassy in Madrid encouraged its nationals, through social media, “to sign online to ask for blessings and good fortune on the occasion of His Majesty the King’s birthday.”
