“It is the moment for the private sector,” said the ambassador of Turkey, Nüket Küçükel Ezberci, during the reception she held on the occasion of the visit to Madrid by the president of the Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Türkiye (TÜSİAD), Ozan Diren, and several members of its Board of Directors.

After recalling that her priority has been the promotion of economic relations between both countries during the three years she has been at the head of the Turkish Mission, the ambassador expressed her desire that “the private sectors of Spain and Turkey can establish ‘joint ventures’ and explore opportunities” in third countries and in different fields of economic activity.

For his part, the president of TÜSIAD gave a brief description of the association’s activities and expressed his desire to enhance its activities with Spanish companies.

The reception, which took place last Thursday at her official residence, was attended by prominent representatives from the Spanish public and private sectors, as well as Turkish entrepreneurs who operate in Spain.

The meeting, according to the Turkish Embassy through its X account, “provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views on our trade and investment relations with Spain, as well as on the opportunities and challenges we share.”

In addition to Ozan Diren, CEO of DIMES (one of Turkey’s leading beverage companies), the TÜSIAD delegation included the president of the Durable Consumer Goods Group of Koç Holding, Fatih Kemal Ebiçlioğlu; the founder and president of PBA A.Ş., Perihan İnci; the investment advisor and co-chair of the Global Relations and EU Roundtable, Meltem Akol; the co-chair of the Global Relations and EU Roundtable, Azmi Gümüşlüoğlu; and the deputy secretary general responsible for international relations and supervisor of TÜSIAD in Europe, Nur Beler Levi.

Founded in 1971 to represent the Turkish business world, TÜSİAD is a voluntary, independent, and non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting well-being through private enterprise. Thanks to its members, it has significant representation capacity for economic activity in Türkiye across a large number of sectors.

Based in Istanbul, TÜSİAD has international offices in Brussels, Washington D.C., Paris, and Berlin; and networks in China, London, Silicon Valley, New York, and the Gulf region. TÜSİAD is a member of BusinessEurope, the main advocate for growth and competitiveness at the European level.
