In the framework of the event titled The governance of circular migration and socioeconomic reintegration, which took place in Huelva, the Minister of Migration, Elma Saiz, highlighted the importance of orderly and safe labor mobility.
In her speech, Saiz emphasized that this mobility not only generates opportunities and responds to labor needs, but also strengthens the ties between the involved societies.
The event, organized by the Secretary of State for Migration along with Agricultural Cooperatives of Andalusia, was attended by the Moroccan Minister of Economic Inclusion and Small Business, Younes Sekkouri. The latter stated that the cooperation between Spain and Morocco, in place for over 25 years, is a valuable example that can serve to further improve circular migration, which, according to him, acts as a motor for shared development.
During the event, a recognition was made to the first workers of the Wafira II program, who arrived in Huelva in March and have completed comprehensive training. Saiz emphasized that this project not only provides new skills to the workers but also seeks to create conditions of trust and protection. With the support of the European Union, Wafira II aims to accompany 3,000 Moroccan workers in their work experience in Europe, thus promoting safe and beneficial labor mobility for all parties involved.
