The Association of Foreign Diplomats in Spain (ADE) held a diplomatic event on Tuesday, April 21, organized together with Cigna Healthcare International Health and the Academy of Diplomacy of Spain, where a Global Study on the Health of Diplomats 2026 was presented.
This meeting, which took place at the Real Casino of Madrid, brought together representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, institutions, and experts in a space for dialogue and networking. The study presented reflects a key analysis that addresses the challenges of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of diplomats and their families in a context of increasing international mobility.
Liza Medrano, president of ADE, noted in her speech that “this initiative reflects a growing sensitivity towards a fundamental dimension of our work, which is the comprehensive well-being of those we serve in the diplomatic field.”
“The diplomatic profession, as we well know, continued the Honduran diplomat, entails great responsibilities, but also unique challenges. Constant mobility, adapting to new cultural environments, distance from our loved ones, and, at times, performing in complex contexts, make both physical and mental health an essential aspect that deserves our full attention. This study offers us a valuable opportunity to reflect, share experiences, and, above all, move towards solutions that ensure a better quality of life for diplomats and their families. Spaces like this are fundamental to strengthen dialogue, promote cooperation, and build support networks within our community.”
