The Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant, has announced that the Government of Spain will mobilize 8 billion euros by 2030 to develop the National Deep Tech Strategy, a plan designed to transform the country’s scientific potential into technological leadership.
During the presentation of this strategy, which has the collaboration of eleven other ministries, Morant emphasized the importance of placing Spain at the forefront of research, development, manufacturing, and application of advanced technologies.
Morant stressed that Spain has the talent and research capacity necessary to lead a new technological revolution. “With this strategy, we give the definitive boost to turn ideas into prosperity,” said the minister. For her part, the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, María González Veracruz, emphasized that this initiative not only addresses technological aspects but also represents a social and economic change that promotes well-being, health, employment, and sustainability.
The Deep Tech Strategy will be structured around three fundamental axes: reinforcing scientific and technological capabilities, strengthening the business fabric from research to market, and building a coordinated ecosystem between public administrations, research centers, and companies. It will focus on strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and clean energies, with over 70% of the funds allocated to boosting the productive fabric and promoting the industrialization of innovative projects.
