Next Tuesday, June 23, starting at 9:15 AM, the European Investment Bank (EIB) will present in the Column Room (4th floor) of the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid (Calle Alcalá, 42) Four decades of shared prosperity – The EIB Group in Spain – Driving Europe.
Forty years ago, Spain said yes to Europe. Since then, the economic and social progress of the country is inseparable from the European project. The EIB Group has been an ally in this transformation, financing strategic infrastructures, supporting the business fabric, and mobilizing investment so that European priorities translate into tangible results for all. When Spain joined the European Communities four decades ago, the EIB was already working here. And today, as then, it continues to be where it is most needed.
In a context where Europe must strengthen its investment capacity to sustain its competitiveness and social model, the president of the EIB Group, Nadia Calviño, invites you to a high-level meeting. It will serve to reflect on the current challenges of the European project at a time of global change. It will also feature the participation of clients and partners who will show how European financing translates into real impact in Spain. It will be a space for dialogue to illustrate how we build shared prosperity by investing together.
After the registration of participants, at 10 AM, the president of the European Investment Bank Group, Nadia Calviño, will speak. Subsequently, it will be the turn of Daniel Calleja, director of the European Commission Representation in Spain, who will talk about Spain, 40 years in the European Union. Following that, there will be a conversation between president Nadia Calviño and Iñigo Alfonso moderator/journalist.
It will be followed by the panel The EIB Group and its partners: investment, impact, and future, with the participation of María Romano, moderator/director of the EIB Group Office in Spain, and Inés Carpio San Román, general director, General Secretariat of the Treasury and International Financing.
