CaixaBank boosted its market share in foreign trade between Spain and India in 2025, consolidating its position as a reference financial partner for European companies operating in the Asian country, as indicated on its website by the Spain-India Foundation.
CaixaBank has had a presence in India for 15 years. In 2025, it strengthened its market share in export documentary credits between Spain and India to 56.6% (up from 35.4% achieved in 2024); in import documentary credits, where it reached 31%, adding 210 basis points; and in managed guarantees between the two countries, rising 80 basis points to reach 55% market share.
These growth figures, the Foundation states, “are a demonstration of CaixaBank’s commitment to developing economic relations between the two countries,” which will be strengthened by the signing of the trade agreement between the European Union and India in January 2026, expected to come into effect in 2027.
CaixaBank opened its office in New Delhi in 2011 as a strategic platform to support its corporate clients in their internationalization and growth processes in one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, and to support international trade flows in the corridor between Spain and India. Over the years, CaixaBank has developed a close relationship with the main financial institutions in India.
Furthermore, the entity also maintains intense collaboration with chambers of commerce, business associations, institutional bodies, and companies from both countries with the aim of fostering new business opportunities and strengthening economic relations between the two countries.
