The Ministry of Defense will celebrate the II Responsible Artificial Intelligence Day in the Military Field on September 22 and 23 at the Palace of the Audience in Soria. This meeting aims to promote governance and the ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Defense sector.
Organized by the Secretary of State for Defense, in collaboration with the Center for Information and Communication Systems and Technologies (CESTIC) and the public company Engineering Systems for the Defense of Spain (Isdefe), the event has four fundamental objectives. These include strengthening collaboration with technology sector companies, promoting national developments of responsible AI, involving universities and research centers, and presenting NEXUS, an organizational model to apply the principles of the REAIM initiative.
The day is aimed at personnel from the Ministry of Defense and professionals from the university field, as well as representatives from companies in the sector. The program will include round tables, debate panels, an exhibition area, and networking activities, thus fostering knowledge exchange. The Soria meeting continues the first edition, held in Jaén on November 20 and 21, 2025, and the momentum generated by the III REAIM Summit, held in A Coruña on February 4 and 5, 2026. This international meeting allowed progress towards concrete measures to implement the principles of responsibility, human control, and governance of artificial intelligence in the military field.
