On Friday, May 22 at 7 PM, the Embassy of Brazil and Casa América celebrate in the Gabriela Mistral Amphitheater of the diplomatic cultural center the Day of Lusophony, with compositions by the award-winning Brazilian conductor and pianist, Roberto Laborda. Free entry until full capacity.
A repertoire will be presented featuring works titled ‘Senzalas’, compositions for symphonic orchestra, chamber music, and concerts, addressing diverse themes reflecting the wide cultural spectrum of Brazil.
The evening will feature the chamber group Madrid Soloists Ensemble composed of a string quintet and winds who will perform among others Romanza de Riga, premiered in Vienna in 2023 and winner of the first prize at the International Competition of the Academy of Music in Vienna.
Soprano Solange Aroca will perform excerpts from the opera Irmá Dulce, premiered at Palazzo Pamphili in Rome during the canonization celebrations of Saint Dulce at the Vatican (2019).
