The Crystal Gallery of the Cibeles Palace is once again the setting to celebrate the eleventh edition of the festival Cibeles de Cine, with a wide program that includes more than 70 titles featuring great classics, cult cinema, seasonal hits, and family films.
After gathering more than 45,000 spectators in its 2025 edition, the public will be able to enjoy this year, until September 10, a carefully curated program in this event organized by the Culture, Tourism and Sports Area of the Madrid City Council and conceived and produced by mk2. The films are screened in VOSE (Original Version Subtitled in Spanish), except on Saturdays, when films are usually shown in dubbed versions.
In 2026, Cibeles de Cine pays its particular tribute to Spanish cinema. On one hand, with the official poster, designed by Beatriz Ramo (‘Naranjalidad’), inspired by the poster that Juan Gatti created for Volver, by Pedro Almodóvar, the film commissioned to inaugurate this edition. On the other hand, through the aerial exhibition A country of pure cinema, which brings together photographic portraits of some of the most influential figures in Spanish cinema, made by prominent photographers from El País.
Within the program, the most awarded and box office Spanish films of the year will be screened in special sessions with the participation of some of the teams: Los domingos, the big winner of the 2026 Goya Awards; the film La cena; Aída y vuelta; Yo no moriré de amor; Maspalomas; Amarga Navidad; Flores para Antonio; Cada día nace un listo; or the premiere of El ser querido, after its appearance at the Cannes Film Festival.
There will also be great recent box office hits, such as The Devil Wears Prada 2, Project Salvation, Wuthering Heights, Michael or Marty Supreme. Also the most notable titles from the last awards season and festivals, such as Sentimental Value, One Battle After Another, Hamnet, Bugonia, The Secret Agent, Three Goodbyes, Father Mother Sister Brother, Uncontrollable or The Left-Handed Girl; including premieres like El drama, El día de la revelación or The Odyssey.
Cult cinema will be present thanks to the screening of Moulin Rouge (25th anniversary), Spirited Away (25th anniversary), Pulp Fiction, Dirty Dancing, Kill Bill. The Whole Bloody Affair or The Princess Bride. As well as classics, both national and American, such as The National Shotgun (100th anniversary of Rafael Azcona), Pan’s Labyrinth (20th anniversary), Belle Époque, Cabaret, Vertigo, Manhattan, Stand by Me (40th anniversary), Breakfast at Tiffany’s (65th anniversary) or Taxi Driver (50th anniversary).
As usual, Saturdays are dedicated to the whole family with films like Toy Story 5, Super Mario: Galaxy, Minions & Monsters, Zootropolis 2, Shrek (25th anniversary) or Labyrinth (40th anniversary).
