The Embassy of the Republic of Costa Rica in Spain has issued a statement to inform that today, June 30, marks the end of the diplomatic mission in the Kingdom of Spain of Ambassador Adriana Bolaños Sarqueta.
Until the arrival of the new ambassador, the Minister Counselor Gisella Sánchez Castillo will assume the leadership of the Mission as Chargé d’Affaires a.i., performing the corresponding functions starting tomorrow, July 1.
Adriana Bolaños, a lawyer by profession, worked five years at the Central Bank of Costa Rica and another five at the Executive Secretariat of the Central American Monetary Council.
Since 2013, when she joined the diplomatic career, she held various positions in Quito, San Juan de Puerto Rico, and Brussels. During the previous administration, presided over by Carlos Alvarado, she was Deputy Foreign Minister and before undertaking the diplomatic mission in Spain, she held the position of Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
