A group of about 250 young Ukrainians is enjoying a ten-day stay in Spain, away from the conflict that has marked their lives. This experience, framed within the ‘Holidays in Peace’ program, gives them the opportunity to live moments of tranquility and well-being in Lloret de Mar.

The Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, met with the teenagers at the ‘La Merced’ barracks in Barcelona, where she conveyed a message of support and solidarity. “You represent the future of a country that is giving a lesson in strength,” Robles stated, emphasizing the importance of providing these young people with a safe space, even if temporarily, away from the war.

During their stay, which takes place from May 3 to 13, the young people participate in various cultural and leisure activities, including visits to iconic places such as the Sagrada Familia and PortAventura World. Robles also highlighted the generosity of Spanish society, which has made it possible for these young people to regain, even if just for a few days, a normalcy they should never have lost.
