The Embassy of Paraguay celebrates the 215th anniversary of its independence

On the occasion of the commemoration of the 215th Anniversary of the National Independence of the Republic of Paraguay, a Floral Offering Ceremony was held last Friday at the monument of Marshal Francisco Solano López, located in the Paseo Paraguay of the Buen Retiro Park in Madrid.

During the event, Ambassador Justo Apodaca along with the Defense Attaché, Colonel Carlos Benítez Peyrat, laid a wreath in honor of the heroes of May 1811.

The ceremony featured the performance of the National Anthems of the Republic of Paraguay and the Kingdom of Spain, performed by the Municipal Police Band of the Madrid City Council.

The emblematic event was attended by members of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives of the Armed Forces of Spain, Defense Attachés, military, naval, and air personnel, as well as members of the Paraguayan community residing in the country.

A commemoration that allowed for the remembrance of Paraguayan history and strengthened the bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite Paraguay and Spain.
