The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, has highlighted the importance of industrial transformation and innovation, announcing a call for 9 million euros in aid aimed at Innovative Business Groups (AEIs).
This announcement was made during the inauguration of the XIII SERNAUTO Meeting in Madrid, where Hereu emphasized the growth in electric car sales and the need to position Spain as a reference industrial and technological hub, supported by renewable energies and solid industrial policies through the Auto Plan 2030.
The minister stressed the relevance of public-private collaboration and the adaptability of the automotive components sector to lead the mobility of the future. He mentioned the support instruments implemented in recent years, such as the PERTE VEC, which has granted more than 2.700 million euros to date.
With the launch of the 2026 call for the AEI Support Program, the aim is to promote collaborative innovation and the strategic autonomy of SMEs. This program is structured into three lines of funding for various actions, including support for the structure of AEIs, technical feasibility studies for new projects, and R&D+i projects that contribute to sustainability and digitalization. Applications will be open for the 20 working days following their publication in the Official State Gazette.
