I Spain-Kazakhstan Forum

I Spain-Kazakhstan Forum

The First Spain–Kazakhstan Forum will bring together institutional representatives, experts, and companies from both countries next Tuesday, June 16, starting at 9 a.m. at the Astana International Financial Centre to promote political dialogue, economic cooperation, and new areas of collaboration such as sports tourism.

The meeting, organized by Casa Asia, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, and Kazakh Invest, is framed in a geopolitical context that gives Central Asia a growing role and positions Kazakhstan as a key partner for Spain and the European Union.

The first working session, focused on the European Union’s strategy for Central Asia, will analyze Kazakhstan’s role as a priority partner in areas such as energy, connectivity, and regional stability, as well as Spain’s contribution to boosting relations between the EU and the region. The debate will identify opportunities to strengthen cooperation within the framework of European initiatives, with special attention to the diplomatic and multilateral dimension.

For its part, the second session will address the strengthening of bilateral business cooperation, with a special focus on high-potential sectors such as logistics, engineering, construction, or sustainability. Companies and institutions will share experiences and best practices to facilitate entry into both markets, foster local alliances, and develop joint projects, highlighting the complementarity of both economies and the interest in increasing trade and investment.

Finally, the third session, dedicated to tourism and sports, will explore successful models and common challenges, from the development of destinations to the organization of international events. This block will highlight the potential of this binomial as a driver of economic growth, international projection, and cultural exchange, as well as the need to advance in sustainability, talent development, and improvement of global competitiveness.
