Inti Raymi 20225

Tomorrow Saturday from 9 to 11:30 AM, the Embassies of Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru invite you to experience Inti Raymi 2026, a unique experience full of tradition, culture, and connection to our roots.

The ancient tradition ceremony of Inti Raymi is a celebration of the Andean solstice and shares this ancestral gathering that honors the Sun and the cultural richness of our peoples. The event will take place in the Retiro Park in Madrid, with a parade that will run from the Puerta de Madrid to the Plaza de Galicia.

The Inti Raymi (or Festival of the Sun) is the most important Inca celebration. It is celebrated every June 24 coinciding with the winter solstice in the southern hemisphere. Its purpose is to thank the god Inti and ask for good harvests for the agricultural year. The heart of this festivity is found in Cusco, Peru, where a majestic theatrical representation takes place with more than 800 actors at the Coricancha temple, the Plaza Mayor, and the esplanade of Sacsayhuamán.
