The next Sunday, July 5th at 12 PM, the 14th edition of the K-Pop Contest organized by the Centro Cultural Coreano will take place. And once again, the stage will be the Teatro Gran Vía in Madrid.
Young talents from all over the country will compete for prizes of up to 1,000 euros and the possibility of representing Spain in Korea, with a jury made up of artists from the Korean music scene and a special raffle, among others, for a round-trip flight between Madrid and Seoul, sponsored by Korean Air.
With free entry until full capacity is reached, this will be the 14th edition of this contest that each year brings together enthusiastic fans of the K-Pop movement, who in this year 2026 have had their stellar moment with the performance of the star group BTS at the Riyadh Air Metropolitan Stadium in Madrid on June 26th and 27th.
K-Pop (Korean popular music) is a musical genre originating from South Korea. Beyond the music, which mixes pop, hip-hop, and electronic, it is a massive cultural phenomenon characterized by complex choreographies, striking visual productions, and rigorously trained artists. Worldwide, this musical genre has a community that exceeds 800 million followers. This group of fans is recognized for their great organization, digital activism, and unconditional support for iconic groups like the aforementioned BTS and Blackpink.
