Until June, spending by international tourists grew by 7% in Spain

The number of tourists who visited the country approached 46.6 million, with a growth of 4.6% compared to the first half of 2025

According to a report from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), during the first half of 2026, the spending of international tourists in Spain reached 63.8 billion euros, representing an increase of 7% compared to the same period of the previous year.

During this period, the number of tourists visiting the country approached 46.6 million, with a growth of 4.6% compared to the first half of 2025.

Among the countries with the highest spending, United Kingdom leads the list with 17% of the total, followed by Germany with 11.7% and France with 7.4%. In terms of accumulated spending by Autonomous Communities, Canary Islands, Catalonia and Community of Madrid stand out, representing 18.6%, 18.5% and 15.7% of the total, respectively.

In June, Spain received nearly 9.7 million international tourists, generating spending of over 13.579 billion euros. Each visitor spent an average of 1,393 euros, with a growth of 1.1% compared to the previous year. The Balearic Islands positioned themselves as the favorite destination, capturing 23.3% of the total visitors and with an increase of 0.6% compared to June 2025.
