The Chargé d’Affaires of the Polish Embassy, Monika Krzepkowska, met last Wednesday at the Talavera de la Reina base (Toledo) with Polish firefighters, being received by the command of the GFFF (Ground Forest Fire Fighting) Poland module and by the technical representatives of INFOCAM from the Government of Castilla-La Mancha.
The Polish firefighters arrived in Spain on August 1, as part of the European Civil Protection Mechanism. They provide support to Spanish services in the fight against fires in non-urbanized areas. 105 firefighters will be on duty there until August 30.
During the visit, demonstrations of joint operations between Polish and Spanish firefighters were conducted. Both parties presented their tactical approaches and exchanged experiences on forest fire extinguishing. Representatives of the Polish Embassy also had the opportunity to learn about the operational conditions of the GFFF Poland module during its previous deployment in Spain, as well as its organization and operational capabilities. The meeting served as a new opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Polish and Spanish firefighters and exchange experiences, thus improving preparedness for joint operations.
“The joint actions of the Polish and Spanish services are a example of effective cooperation based on mutual trust, the exchange of experiences, and maximum professionalism. Thanks to this type of mission, Poland strengthens not only its response capacity to crisis situations but also the ties that bind Poland and Spain,” emphasize those from the Polish Embassy.
