The Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, has conducted a follow-up visit to the Operations Command (MOPS), located at the Retamares Base in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid. During her visit, she inquired about the current situation of the missions that the Spanish Armed Forces are carrying out abroad.
During the course of the visit, Robles received a detailed report on the planning and execution of the ongoing missions. Additionally, she participated in a videoconference with three key detachments, located in geostrategic scenarios that require high operational demands.
At the end of the videoconferences, the minister emphasized to the MOPS commanders that the contingents deployed abroad are a reflection of a supportive Spain, committed to its international responsibilities and a reliable partner in the Euro-Atlantic area. Robles also highlighted the high availability and specialization of these contingents, who are sent where they are needed, performing work that all Spaniards can be proud of.
