The Protocol Director of the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Jonathan Chait, received yesterday the copies of the Letters of Credence of Maria Margarete Gosse as the newly appointed ambassador of Germany in the Central American country.
Maria Margarete Gosse was the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra since August 2022, which was her first posting as a German ambassador, after working in the Foreign Service since 1994.
In an interview conducted by a newspaper in 2023, Maria Margarete Gosse stated that “It is something that personally hurts me, that people do not understand that one cannot play at being Nazis, for me it is an indisputable thing. It is not acceptable and it hurts me because I have engraved in my mind the images of the stacked corpses in Auschwitz, and I cannot forget this.”
A lover of culture and the political and economic evolution of Spain since the years 1996-1999 when she was consul in Barcelona, this German diplomat has always been accompanied in her work in Spain by her husband, the Spanish Carmelo Naranjo García, who excellently represented his wife at some diplomatic events and who, together with her, has left a pleasant memory in the Spanish and foreign Diplomatic Corps working in Spain.
