Last week, Balbina Malheiros Dias da Silva, ambassador of Angola, visited Asturias to promote new opportunities for economic cooperation with northern Spain. The institutional mission, organized by Bego Costa África & Worldwide, developed an intense agenda of meetings with Asturian entities and companies.

The Angolan ambassador made a three-day visit, from Thursday to Saturday, to Asturian lands with the aim of strengthening economic, commercial, and business relations between Angola and Spain, focusing on collaboration opportunities with the Asturian business fabric.

The work agenda, organized by Bego Costa África & Worldwide, an Asturian company specialized in internationalization, business development, and business cooperation between Spain and Africa, included meetings with the Presidency of the International Fair of Asturias, where the delegation made an institutional visit to the fairgrounds, the Chamber of Commerce of Gijón, the technology company SATEC, and the company Futuver, located in the Scientific and Technological Park of Gijón, where the delegation was able to closely observe the innovative and technological potential of the Asturian business ecosystem.

According to a statement from the Embassy of Angola, “this mission is part of the strategic collaboration between the Republic of Angola and the Kingdom of Spain and aims to strengthen economic relations between both countries, as well as advance the preparation of a Business Forum focused on industrial transformation and services, which will bring together institutions and companies from Angola with northern Spain.”

During the meetings, the possibility of promoting collaboration initiatives in specialized technical training with the University of Oviedo was also discussed, favoring the exchange of knowledge and the development of talent between both countries.

During the visit, Ambassador Balbina da Silva emphasized very much that “Asturias has great potential. After the visit to the Scientific and Technological Park, our intention is to continue working to develop new collaboration opportunities with Asturias and with Asturian companies. In addition, a future commercial prospecting mission to Angola is planned to encourage investment attraction and continue strengthening economic relations between both territories.”
