The Government of Honduras appointed former president of the National Electoral Council (CNE) Ana Paola Hall as the new ambassador to Spain this Wednesday, and tasked her with the job of “continuing and strengthening bilateral relations”.

The new diplomat requested a temporary permit, which will conclude in March 2029, to leave her position as a CNE advisor and assume the diplomatic legation of her country in Madrid, where she will succeed Marlon Brevé.

Ambassador Hall arrives in Spanish territory with a working agenda focused on continuing and strengthening bilateral relations. Among the priority strategic axes of her management are key areas for social and economic development, such as education, health, security, infrastructure, tourism, and the environment.

A central component of her diplomatic mission will be comprehensive attention to the Honduran migrant community. During her inauguration, Ambassador Ana Paola Hall expressed her firm commitment to actively work for her compatriots abroad, ensuring that every citizen receives institutional support and necessary assistance on migration issues through the network of consulates in the European country.

Ana Paola Hall is a lawyer and doctor in criminal law, as well as a diplomat and former electoral official. She is a representative of the Liberal Party of Honduras and until her appointment served as a full advisor of the National Electoral Council (CNE), an organization she chaired since September 2025 after leading the organization of the general elections.

During her tenure, she gained notoriety for defending the autonomy of the electoral body and denouncing alleged pressures and attempts of political interference.
