The Secretary of State for Industry, Jordi García Brustenga, concluded his official trip to Mexico, where he accompanied the First Vice President and Minister of Economy, Trade and Business, Carlos Cuerpo, with the aim of strengthening economic and trade relations between both countries.

During his stay, García Brustenga emphasized the strategic importance of the economic relationship between Spain and Mexico, which has become one of the most relevant destinations for Spanish investment and a key market for business internationalization.

Mexico positions itself as an essential productive and commercial hub, thanks to its preferential access to international markets through a wide network of trade agreements. In the framework of the Business Meeting, organized by ICEX, CEOE, and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, investment and collaboration opportunities in fundamental sectors such as infrastructure, water technologies, clean energy, circular economy, and logistics were highlighted.

During his participation in various institutional and business meetings, the Secretary of State underscored the crucial role of industry in growth, innovation, and the creation of quality jobs. He also highlighted that the ecological and digital transition should be seen as an opportunity to improve competitiveness and promote a new industrial model based on innovation and sustainability. His visit included a meeting with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and a visit to the CIE Nugar Tultitlán plant, where he was able to appreciate firsthand the technological capabilities and the contribution of the Spanish industry to the automotive sector in Mexico.
