A new scholarship call aimed at students, teachers, and researchers interested in participating in its Summer Courses has been opened once again by the Fundación Carolina.

In a global context marked by profound technological transformations and geopolitical tensions, these meetings consolidate as strategic spaces for debate, the defense of democratic values, and cooperation. This initiative reaffirms the institution’s commitment to strengthening the Ibero-American Knowledge Space (EIC).

These are the three courses that are part of the training offer for this edition:

1.- The power of knowledge: Ibero-America in the global academic ecosystem

Dates: July 6, 7, and 8, 2026

Location: Ponteareas (Pontevedra)

Key themes: There will be discussions on university internationalization, talent acquisition strategies in global ecosystems (Europe, Asia, the USA, and Latin America), open science, and the strategic role of ‘science for policy’ (public decision-making based on empirical evidence).

Who is it aimed at? University students interested in internationalization, scientific diplomacy, and academic mobility. Professors and researchers who generate international knowledge networks and promote scientific cooperation projects.

2.- Resisting the reaction: politics, feminism, and Ibero-American cooperation

Dates: July 1, 2, 3, 2026.

Location: San Lorenzo del Escorial (Madrid)

Key themes: The program is structured around the pillars of the Feminist Cooperation Strategy of Spanish Cooperation: rights, representation, resources, and alliances. It aims to analyze the conditions of the civic space for feminist organizations; women’s leadership in the face of democratic setbacks, as well as in peace and security processes; the egalitarian configuration of care systems or the role of women in digital innovation.

Who is it aimed at? The course will bring together heads of foreign policy institutions and representatives of multilateral organizations, development agencies, and the academic community, and is aimed at professionals in the cooperation sector, students of international relations, and specialists in public management and equality policies.

3.- Technology, science, and power: Latin America and the EU in the digital battle

Dates: August 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 2026

Location: Santander (Cantabria)

Brief description: The advances in digitalization and AI, and their impact on the socioeconomic, environmental, and geopolitical levels continue to pose challenges and opportunities for European and Latin American democracies. Following the course held in 2025 at UIMP, a new edition is presented that updates the approach towards a strategic agenda for Euro-Latin American action.

Who is it aimed at? The course is aimed at students of international relations, political scientists, professionals and technicians from international organizations, and the general public interested.

Scholarship application process

Individuals interested in applying for any of the three programs must meet the specific requirements of academic profile and formalize their application through the official platform of the Carolina Foundation before June 15.
