The ambassador of Mexico, Quirino Ordaz, presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of Mexico in Eastern Andalusia, based in Málaga, which will be headed by Manuel Nicolás Moreno Torres.
The event was attended by the mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, regional and municipal authorities, members of the Consular Corps accredited in that city, representatives from the academic and business sectors, members of the state security forces, and members of the Mexican community residing in Andalusia.
With this new honorary representation, Mexico strengthens its institutional presence in Eastern Andalusia and expands consular assistance for Mexican individuals residing, visiting, or transiting through the provinces of Almería, Granada, Jaén, and Málaga.
The inauguration brought together more than 200 people, including authorities, institutional representatives, members of the state security forces, members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, and a large representation of the Mexican community residing in Andalusia.
The opening of the Honorary Consulate of Mexico in Málaga represents a significant step for the attention to the Mexican community in Eastern Andalusia and for strengthening the ties between two territories united by history, culture, and a growing willingness to collaborate.
