The Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and Agora Diplomática, in collaboration with the Albanian embassy in Spain, have organized a high-level business meeting with the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, held at La Llotja de Mar, as part of his institutional visit to Barcelona.

The Albanian head of government was accompanied by a prominent delegation led by the Albanian ambassador to Spain, Entela Gjika, as well as the Minister of Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, and the Minister of Local Government, Ervin Demo.

The meeting, aimed at being a space for connection between diplomacy, institutions, and the business fabric, has allowed to promote direct dialogue with the Government of Albania and identify opportunities for economic cooperation, investment, and business internationalization.

The session included the participation of the president of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Josep Santacreu i Bonjoch, the president of Agora Diplomática, Pau Herrera, as well as representatives from leading companies and institutions such as Moventia, Fluidra, Sorigué, Roca, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, and Tech Barcelona, who were able to learn firsthand about the strategic priorities of the Albanian government and explore possible avenues for collaboration with the Catalan business fabric.

At a key moment for Albania, a candidate country for EU membership, the meeting also served to share visions on European integration, economic development, and Mediterranean cooperation, highlighting the country’s growing role in the Balkans and in the overall Euro-Mediterranean space.

At this meeting, the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce reiterated its willingness to strengthen institutional and economic ties with Albania, especially in areas such as support for SMEs, innovation, participation in European projects, and progressive convergence with community standards.

With initiatives like this, Agora Diplomática reaffirms its commitment to economic diplomacy and the creation of bridges between governments, institutions, and businesses, contributing to positioning Barcelona as a space for dialogue and opportunities in the Mediterranean and promoting more integrated, competitive, and future-oriented cooperation.
