The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, announced an ambitious aid package worth 15 million euros, aimed at boosting energy efficiency in the tourism sector. These grants will be available for hotels, hospitality establishments, and campsites, among others.

Details about the deadlines for applying for the aid, as well as the minimum and maximum amounts, will be announced soon with the publication of the Royal Decree that will regulate this initiative.

During his speech at the General Assembly of Hospitality of Spain, held in Madrid, Hereu emphasized the importance of this aid to support tourism in its transition to a model of triple sustainability. In a context of global uncertainty, marked by the consequences of the Iran war, the minister stressed that these grants aim to strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of the Spanish tourism sector.

In addition, Minister Jordi Hereu reminded that one of the key objectives of the Spain Tourism Strategy 2030 is to position the country as a global reference in sustainable tourism. To achieve this, he pointed out, “it is essential that administrations commit to supporting the sector through plans like the one announced.” The aid aims to promote the circular economy, improve energy efficiency, and raise awareness among both employees and customers about the responsible use of resources.
