The Secretary of State for Defense of Spain, Amparo Valcarce, was the host of the annual meeting of the Eurofighter Multinational Program, which took place in Madrid on May 20 and 21. This meeting brought together representatives from the four participating nations: Germany, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom, as well as members of the NETMA Agency and the companies involved in the program, such as Eurofighter GmbH and Eurojet GmbH.

During the opening of the meeting, Valcarce emphasized the growing importance of the Eurofighter Program for Spain, highlighting the need to maintain an agile and resilient supply chain. The Secretary of State urged the involved companies to modernize and improve their in-service support capabilities, ensuring that the fleet meets current operational demands.

The meeting also addressed the future of the Program, including significant developments such as Phase Enhancement 4 (P4E) and the new architecture of Long Term Evolution. These advancements are designed to ensure that the Eurofighter continues to be a relevant and effective weapon system, both in operational capabilities and in interoperability with future NATO defense technologies. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to visit the assembly line of the Halcón I fleet at AIRBUS-SAU, highlighting Spain’s commitment to innovation in the aerospace sector.
