In 2025, the State Security Forces and Corps in Spain, including the National Police and the Civil Guard, managed to free a total of 1,869 victims of trafficking and exploitation, representing a 4 percent increase compared to the previous year.

Of this total, 28 minors were rescued from situations of severe vulnerability. These actions were carried out through 413 operations that resulted in the arrest of 1,056 people and the dismantling of 112 criminal organizations.

The report, prepared by the Intelligence Center against Terrorism and Organized Crime (CITCO) and available on the Ministry of the Interior’s website, shows that of the liberated victims, 858 were recruited by organized networks through deception, violence, or abuse of vulnerable situations, and were destined for sexual exploitation, labor, forced marriages, begging, or criminal activities. Additionally, 1,015 more victims were involved in exploitation situations, although the link to organized networks could not be demonstrated.

In the area of sexual exploitation, 374 victims were freed from trafficking networks, the majority being young women from Colombia, Venezuela, and China. On the other hand, 393 victims were liberated from labor exploitation situations, with a predominant profile of young men from countries such as Nepal, India, and Morocco. These operations reflect the ongoing commitment of Spanish authorities in the fight against human trafficking and the protection of victims.
