The ambassador of South Korea, Lim Soosuk, held a working lunch on Monday, June 1, with Álvaro Hidalgo, president of the Spain Center for Korean Studies (CEIC), as well as with professors linked to this institution.
During the meeting, those present exchanged opinions on the current state of the development of bilateral relations and future avenues of cooperation between both countries.
The Spain Center for Korean Studies (CEIC) has contributed to strengthening the friendship and mutual understanding between both countries through the publication, in 2020, of a commemorative work for the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Spain, as well as through the organization of various seminars and the publication of opinion articles in media.
Spain and the Republic of Korea commemorated in 2020 the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. To celebrate this milestone, various joint cultural and institutional activities were carried out, highlighting the promotion of their Strategic Partnership. The official link dates back to 1950, specifically on March 17, through an exchange of official “Notes” made through their respective embassies in Washington, and over the last decades it has significantly evolved into a solid alliance.
