‘Metamorfosis: Las transformaciones de la belleza’, en el Instituto Italiano de Cultura

Starting tomorrow Thursday and until August 29, 2026, the Instituto Italiano de Cultura of Madrid presents the exhibition Metamorphosis. The transformations of beauty, by the Italian artist Andrea Crespi.

Through painting, installation, sculpture, and digital processes, Andrea Crespi develops a reflection on the concept of beauty and its transformation in the contemporary era. At the center of his research is the “Neosynthesis,” an artistic principle that unites memory and innovation, past and future, physical and digital, reinterpreting forms and symbols of classical tradition through the visual languages of the present.

The exhibition, curated by Clelia Patella, is articulated in three differentiated spaces: the Hall of Mirrors, dedicated to the reflection and multiplication of the image; the White Room, which relates body and perception through works inspired by “Love and Psyche” and “Venus and Mars”; and the Belvedere Room, dedicated to the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence and algorithmic processes in the construction of contemporary images.

For the occasion, Andrea Crespi has also created a new large work inspired by “Venus and Mars,” taking as a reference the famous group preserved in the Prado Museum in Madrid, thus creating an ideal bridge between Spanish artistic heritage and contemporary Italian sensitivity.

With Metamorphosis, Madrid becomes a meeting point between the European classical heritage and the new forms of contemporary creativity, in a dialogue between art, technology, and cultural memory.

The exhibition has been organized by the Instituto Italiano de Cultura of Madrid, with the support of the FGN Foundation (founded by Francesco Giuseppe Noto, CEO of FGN Consulting), which promotes contemporary art, supporting its dissemination and access, and contributing to the creation of shared value between artists and the public.
