The official website www.trioeclipses.es has been launched by the Spanish Government to provide rigorous information to citizens and ensure their safety during the three eclipses that will take place in Spain between 2026 and 2028

This website, launched through the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU) in collaboration with the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), is designed as the reference portal for citizens, the media, the scientific community, and collaborating organizations, offering useful information for planning trips, consulting transportation recommendations, discovering highlighted destinations, and knowing what to see in each area.

Spain will be the scene of three consecutive solar eclipses: on August 12, 2026, August 2, 2027, and January 26, 2028. Two of them will be total and one annular. Our country will be the only one in the world that can fully observe the first, along with Iceland and Greenland.

From the main page, users can access sections dedicated to each eclipse, where it explains how the phenomenon will be, when it will occur, and from which areas of Spain it can be observed. The main menu also includes sections with educational content about what an eclipse is and what its relevance is. It also includes recommendations for safe observation, information on eye protection, use of optical instruments, and guidelines for prevention and risks.

Additionally, the website has a Dissemination section that gathers activities and educational resources, the content of which has been prepared and developed by the Scientific and Advisory Commission of the Eclipse Trio in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA).

The Observation Points section stands out, with an interactive map where official locations can be consulted from where the phenomenon can be enjoyed, provided by the autonomous communities. The Trajectory Center section also stands out, which shows technical maps with the totality and annularity zones of each eclipse, prepared by the National Geographic Institute.

Coinciding with the launch of the website, the official social media profiles of the Eclipse Trio on X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn have also been activated today. These channels will allow for agile, direct, and accessible dissemination, as well as immediate information on news, resources, activities, safety notices, and territorial updates.

The Interministerial Commission of the Eclipse Trio is attached to the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities as a collegiate body and is chaired by the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Universities, Juan Cruz Cigudosa. Together with the MICIU, it is co-led by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, as both are the ministries in charge of the National Astronomy Commission.
