Next Monday, July 27 at 7 PM, the Gabriela Mistral amphitheater at Casa América will be the stage for the concert Symphony for Peru, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of the South American country. Free entry until capacity is reached.
Symphony for Peru is a non-profit social organization, founded and presided over by the Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez. Since its creation fifteen years ago, this initiative has worked to transform the lives of children and young people through collective and free musical training. To date, it has positively impacted the lives of more than 35,000 beneficiaries and their families.
Currently, more than 6,400 girls, boys, and adolescents find in Symphony for Peru a safe refuge, a space for personal development, and high-level artistic training. Distributed across more than thirty locations throughout ten regions of Peru, beneficiaries not only learn music but also strengthen essential skills and values such as discipline, respect, cooperation, and leadership.
The organization is aligned with universal principles such as Human Rights and Children’s Rights, declared by the United Nations, and is guided by the global goals established by the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN’s 2030 Agenda.
Symphony for Peru demonstrates that music has the power to change the world. The young people participating in this initiative are writing a new story, a story where music is the spark that ignites change. Through their dedication and effort, they are building a legacy of resilience, beauty, and hope.
The concert program includes melodies as famous as Las Cumbres, Gloria Patri, Veni Creator Spiritu, Canta, Canta, Por el mar, Lámpara Maravillosa, and Ay Pepa, Morir por ti or La flor de la canela.
