The Embassy of Honduras in Spain invites you to the bronze sculpture exhibition Let the Flesh Blossom – Abya Yala, by the Honduran artist Rosmery Lara Quartz.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on September 1, 2026, at 6 PM and will be open until September 20 at the Nicolás Salmerón Cultural Center in Madrid (calle Mantuano, 51).
Rosmery Lara Quartz (whose full name is Rosmery Julissa Lara Cerrato) is a prominent sculptor, foundry artist, and painter from Honduras, born in Flores, Villa de San Antonio, Comayagua. She is widely recognized for her technical skill in demanding materials and for bringing the identity of Mesoamerican peoples to international stages.
In addition to her specialty in sculpture and artistic foundry, she works in painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor), mosaic creation, poetry, and teaching visual arts.
Her artistic creations focus on memory, spirituality, the body, nature, and the cultural roots of Latin American peoples. She defines herself in her official spaces as a “Nymph of the forest and the ocean.”
She has successfully exhibited monumental and gallery sculptural pieces both in her native Honduras and in El Salvador (with notable works in the town of Metapán) and Guatemala.
