The days April 28, May 28, and June 3, the cycle of Global Studies of East Asia organized by Casa Asia analyzes the social, cultural, political, economic, and environmental dynamics that emerge from East Asia and impact the rest of the world, turning this region into the most dynamic engine of globalization.
Through a program of online conferences taught by prominent specialists, the sixth edition of the cycle in Global Studies of East Asia analyzes the social, cultural, political, economic, and environmental dynamics that emerge from East Asia and impact the rest of the world, turning this region into the most dynamic engine of globalization.
The cycle is organized by the Master’s Degree in Global Studies of East Asia at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and Casa Asia, with the collaboration of the GREGAL Research Group and the Center for Studies and Research on East Asia (CERAO) of the UAB.
The Master’s Degree in Global Studies of East Asia at the UAB is a pioneering master’s program in training professionals who are experts in cultural, political, economic, and environmental interactions with East Asia (China, Japan, Korea) and offers interdisciplinary training connected with the professional environment of public institutions, companies, foundations, and NGOs.
In this sixth edition (2025), the cycle, consisting of three webinars, focuses on research about East Asia and its relationship with Spain. In its previous editions, the cycle has been dedicated to research on East Asia in the European academic field (I Cycle of conferences: “Global Studies of East Asia 2021”), in the Spanish academic field (II Cycle of conferences: “Global Studies of East Asia 2022”), in the Ibero-American academic field (III Cycle of conferences: “Global Studies of East Asia 2023”), and in academic research between Spain and East Asia (IV Cycle of conferences: “Global Studies of East Asia 2024”) and in emerging research on East Asia (V Cycle of conferences: “Global Studies of East Asia 2025”).
The cycle is coordinated by: Dr. Blai Guarné and Dr. David Saurí, Master’s Degree in Global Studies of East Asia (UAB).
