Spain received a total of 10.1 million international air passengers in April 2026, representing a growth of 3.7% compared to the same month of the previous year, according to data from Turespaña.
Of this flow, 86.5% came from Europe, which experienced an increase of 4.2%. America contributed 8.4% of the arrivals, with an increase of 6.2%, while the figures from Asia showed a notable decline of -30.7%, representing only 1.7% of the total.
In the cumulative total for the first four months of 2026, Spain has received nearly 32.4 million international passengers, reflecting an increase of 5.1% compared to the same period in 2025, equivalent to 1.6 million additional arrivals. Despite the overall growth, Germany has been the exception with a decrease of -5.6% in its arrivals, in contrast to the increase from other markets such as Poland, Belgium, and the United States.
The most prominent source markets include the United Kingdom, which contributed around 2.1 million passengers, representing 21% of the total, and an annual growth of 3.2%. The Canary Islands was the main destination, although it suffered a decline of -3.9%. Meanwhile, arrivals from Italy and France also showed increases, with Catalonia and the Community of Madrid being the main recipients of passengers in April. Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport ranked as the busiest, receiving 2.2 million passengers, 5.5% more than the previous year.
