The new ambassador of Spain to Honduras, Guillermo Escribano Manzano, delivered yesterday to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of that country, Mireya Agüero, the Copies of Style that accredit him as head of the Mission in Tegucigalpa, following his appointment by the Council of Ministers last March.

According to a statement released by the Honduran Foreign Ministry, the delivery of the credentials of the new ambassador “highlights the historical ties of friendship and cooperation between both nations, consolidating bilateral links.”

At the same time, it states that “Honduras and Spain reiterate their commitment to continue promoting a joint agenda aimed at development, cooperation, and the well-being of their peoples, based on mutual respect and shared interests.”

Guillermo Escribano Manzano holds a degree in Law and entered the diplomatic career in 2003. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, he has held, among others, the positions of director general for Spanish in the World, in the Secretary of State for Ibero-America and the Caribbean and Spanish in the World.

He has been head of the Cooperation and Cultural Promotion department of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID); and head of service in the General Subdirectorate for the Middle East (Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs). Among his postings abroad, he has served in the embassies of Spain in Germany, Morocco, the Philippines, and Poland.
