The next Wednesday, June 24 at 7 PM, the Fiver Festival, the Asian Short Film Showcase: Focus Asia, will be inaugurated at Casa Asia (calle Mayor, 64), with the collaboration of Jumping Frames, Madrugada Producciones, and City Contemporary Dance Co. Free entry with prior registration at this link.
This International Festival inaugurates its 14th edition with a showcase of short films under the name Focus Asia, where six short films by renowned Asian artists will be screened, selected in collaboration with the Jumping Frames festival in Hong Kong, the only one of its kind in Asia and a global reference for choreocinema.
This collaboration is part of a cultural exchange initiated in 2025, when Fiver was invited to Hong Kong after the visit of Elisa Wendy, artist and director of Jumping Frames, to Madrid. On that occasion, Fiver participated in the Spectrums section of the Hong Kong festival with the curation of the Short Films from Spain section, thus promoting an artistic dialogue.
The 2026 edition culminates this collaboration process with the showcase in Madrid of a selection of works that have been finalists and awarded in the last editions of Jumping Frames, and which will be presented by Elisa Wendy, responsible for the curation.
Carmen Bedoya, Programming Coordinator of the Casa Asia-Madrid Center, will present the inauguration, and Elisa Wendy, filmmaker, choreographer, artist-curator, and commissioner of the Jumping Frames festival, will participate.
