The European Commission has launched a call for proposals worth 1.1 billion euros to build and modernize transport infrastructure in the EU’s trans-European transport network (TEN-T).

This is the last call of this kind under the current long-term European budget for the period 2021-2027.

The selected projects will contribute to the launch of important proposals in the field of transport. They will boost the EU’s high-speed rail plan and the Industrial Action Plan for the European Automotive Sector, while simultaneously strengthening maritime connectivity, in line with the recently presented EU maritime and port industrial strategies. The funding will also enhance Europe’s defense preparedness by addressing critical points affecting military mobility and supporting the rapid implementation of the EU’s military mobility package.

The call places special emphasis on rail, the decarbonization of maritime transport, and military mobility. It also supports the electrification of road freight transport and ground airport operations, the deployment of charging infrastructure in seaports and inland ports, as well as the digitalization of road transport.

Ukraine and Moldova are also included in the call under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), reflecting the intensification of their transport connections with the EU.

The CEF is the EU’s flagship instrument for financing and implementing TEN-T policy. The selected projects under the 2026 call will contribute to creating smarter, more efficient, and sustainable transport infrastructure, improving interoperability, and strengthening the resilience of transport networks across the EU.

The deadline for submitting proposals is October 6, 2026. At this link you can find the details of the call.
