The Ministry of Defense has delivered a new SH-60F helicopter to the Spanish Navy at an event held at the Naval Base of Rota. The event was presided over by Admiral (R) Aniceto Rosique, Director General of Armament and Material, who highlighted the importance of this addition for strengthening the operational capabilities of the Aircraft Flotilla.
The new SH-60F is part of the HTTN program, Naval Tactical Transport Helicopter, designed to ensure the continuity of embarked tactical transport while advancing towards the implementation of the new NH-90 helicopters. This aircraft not only reinforces tactical transport but is also essential for supporting the Marine Corps in amphibious operations, medical evacuations, and search and rescue missions.
In addition, the modernization of the Aircraft Flotilla includes the future arrival of the MH-60R, which will replace the SH-60B in specific missions, as well as the incorporation of H135 helicopters to improve the training and instruction of the Navy. With the delivery of the SH-60F, the Ministry of Defense strengthens the operability of the Navy and ensures the modernization of its air fleet, key aspects for maritime security.
