The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, visited the construction site of the new Casa Asia headquarters in the Pedralbes area of Barcelona yesterday, Monday. This construction, which is in its final phase, is expected to be completed in the coming months, allowing the facilities to begin operating by the end of this year.

Accompanied by the Counselor of Justice and Democratic Quality of the Generalitat, Ramón Espadaler, and the second deputy mayor of the Barcelona City Council, María Eugènia Gay, among other authorities, Albares toured the two pavilions that will house the new Casa Asia. One of these pavilions will be designated for offices, while the other will feature public spaces, such as the auditorium, the media library, and classrooms for various activities.

The new headquarters in Pedralbes not only celebrates the 25th anniversary of Casa Asia, which took place last November, but also elevates its profile as the main public diplomacy body in Spain regarding the Asia-Pacific region. Since its creation in 2001, thanks to an agreement between the Ministry, the Generalitat of Catalonia, and the Barcelona City Council, Casa Asia has worked to strengthen knowledge and relationships with this crucial region of the world, promoting more open and innovative societies.

From Casa Asia, they collaborate in designing open, innovative, and sustainable societies, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, which is the driving administration, along with the Generalitat of Catalonia and the City Councils of Barcelona and Madrid, of this Consortium.
