Tomorrow Saturday at 8 PM, Casa Asia in Barcelona and the Ethnological Museum and Cultures of the World present at the headquarters of the latter (Carrer de Montcada, 12) a scenic proposal that combines Indian classical music, poetry, and storytelling to revisit the figure of Mirabai, poet, mystic, and precursor of feminism who challenged social and gender norms in 16th century India.

The concert proposes a sonic and poetic journey through her work and biography, highlighting her voice as a space of resistance and freedom. Through singing, texts, and musical interpretation, it explores a spirituality lived from personal experience, outside the structures of power and patriarchal mandates.

Far from a strictly historical reading, the proposal activates Mirabai as a contemporary reference: a figure who transforms devotion into an act of disobedience and artistic creation into a tool of emancipation.

The performance will be by the singer Rajnandini, currently based in Barcelona, who has an active career in the interpretation and dissemination of Indian music, both in traditional and contemporary contexts. She will be accompanied by Rohit Mistry on tabla, Guillermo Rizzotto on guitar, and Alexandra Di Stefano narrating the poems translated into Spanish. Free entry until full capacity is reached.
