IV Edition ‘Serenade to Paraguay – Harp Concert’ at Casa América

The next Thursday, May 7th at 7 PM, the Embassy of Paraguay, in collaboration with Casa América, celebrates once again the IV edition of Serenata al Paraguay – Harp Concert, on the occasion of the National Holidays on May 14th and 15th. Free entry until full capacity.

A concert of high artistic level will be presented, celebrating the cultural identity of Paraguay through the harp, singing, and dancing, integrating different generations of performers. The program will be developed in various musical formats allowing appreciation of the interpretative richness of the Paraguayan harp and its dialogue with the voice and dance of the country. 

On this occasion, tribute will be paid to great Paraguayan artists who left an indelible mark on music:

– Quemil Yambay, musician, composer, and performer, a reference of popular and folk music of Paraguay.

– Alma María Vaesken, singer of the group Los Tres Sudamericanos and Luis Alberto del Paraná, from the group Los Paraguayos, who made an invaluable contribution to the dissemination and projection of Paraguayan and Latin American music internationally. 

The evening will feature a special participation of Noe Sanabria (in the photo), Superior Professor of Paraguayan Harp and Musical Language, trained at the Luis Bordón “Arpa Róga” school. She resides in Asturias, Spain, with an international career developed in Japan, Mexico, and Germany. She has performed on stages such as Campoamor, the Principe Felipe Auditorium, and the Philharmonic Theater. Member of the Guinness World Record for the largest harp ensemble in the world (2013). In 2025, she founded and directed the First International Harp Festival in the Principality of Asturias – Oviedo, a pioneering initiative that promotes cultural exchange and the international projection of the Paraguayan harp.

Renowned invited artists will not miss the event, such as Diego Vera: He has extensive international experience. He has brought the Paraguayan harp to stages in Europe and Asia. He worked in the People’s Republic of China for over 15 years. He currently resides in Spain, where he continues to spread our music as a true Ambassador of the harp in the world. He was also part of the First International Harp Festival in the Principality of Asturias-Oviedo. Jessica Bogado: Soprano trained in Asunción, Buenos Aires, and Madrid, where she currently resides and is pursuing a master’s degree in Vocal Interpretation. She has performed as a soloist on stages such as the Teatro Real de Madrid, the Arsenal de Metz, and the Teatre Martin i Soler, excelling in opera, zarzuela, and contemporary music.  She was part of the First International Harp Festival in the Principality of Asturias – Oviedo. Severiano Gómez: Based in Spain since 1982, he began studying music as a child influenced by his family environment. Since the 1990s, he has developed his career in Spain, where he has established himself as a reference and promoter of the Paraguayan harp.

In addition, the concert will feature the collaboration of artists Anabel Acosta, Claudia Riquelme and Edén Méndez, and the participation of a pair of dancers.
