The total spending of international tourists in March 2026 amounts to 9.6 billion euros, representing an increase of 5.4% compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the latest data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE). In addition, the number of international visitors arriving in Spain exceeds 6.8 million, which corresponds to a growth of 3.3% compared to the same period in 2025.
These data reflect a positive trend in the first quarter of the year, where the total spending of international tourists exceeds 25 billion euros, a 6.3% increase compared to the same period in 2025. In terms of arrivals, the total accumulated from January to March amounts to 17.5 million, representing an increase of 2.5%.
Among the source countries, the United Kingdom leads in spending, representing 14.9% of the total, followed by Germany with 13.4%. Regarding destinations, the autonomous communities that concentrate the highest spending are Canary Islands (25.8% of the total), Andalusia (17.7%) and Catalonia (17%). The average daily spending of tourists has also increased, standing at 198 euros, which translates to a year-on-year increase of 4.8%.
